 Kunming Metro Line 4 Feasibility Report Preliminary Design Expert Review Meeting held 

Entrusted by Yunnan Development and Reform Commission, Kunming Metro Line 4 Feasibility Report cum Metro Line 1 Northwest Extension Project Preliminary Design Expert Review Meeting, chaired by UCD, was successfully held in Kunming from September 17 to 21. 

This review meeting was headed by Yang Xiuren, chief engineer of UCD, while Lu Weidong, deputy chief engineer, acted as the project manager, and Shen Jingyan was especially invited to act as head of the team. Famous experts, a total of 23 people from UCD, Guangzhou, Zhengzhou and Kunming, jointly formed the expert team to complete expert review meeting - the key part of the review. 

Relevant leaders of Yunnan Province and Kunming attended the meeting and made speeches. The meeting received great support and assistance from the competent departments of the provincial and municipal governments, Kunming Rail Transit Group and the design institute. 

Basic data of the projects 

Kunming Metro Line 4 starts from Chenjiaying Station and terminates at Kunming South Station, measures 43.4km long, including 7.46km elevated line and 35.92km underground section (including U-shaped groove). The line has 27 stations, namely 4 elevated stations, 23 underground stations, and 13 transfer stations. The metro line uses the Type B vehicle and six-carriage marshalling. The highest speed will reach 100km/h and DC1500V overhead line system will be used for the power supply. In line with the design of one section with two yards, the project is planned to start construction in April 2016 and be completed in April 2020. Metro Line 1 Northwest Extension Project measures 7.551km long and all sections are underground with seven stations. Two transfer stations and a parking lot will be set up. Metro Line 1 Northwest Extension Project will start construction in October 2015 and be completed and put into pilot run at the end of December 2018. The total construction period will be 3.3 years.
