Academician Zhou Chenghu advises for development of the geo-information industry 

On September 16, Zhou Chenghu, academician of the Chinese Academy of Sciences (CAS), headed a team together with Tu Genping, chairman of Suzhou Science and Technology Industry Base for Geo-Information of CAS, and visited the Surveying Institute to offer advices for the development of the geo-information industry. Ma Haizhi, president of the Surveying Institute, and vice president Gao Wenxin, chief engineer Zhang Jianquan, deputy chief engineer Ma Quanming, and Yin Zhiguo, director of the Investment & Financing Department of the Design Development Group, and all staff members of the Geo-information Center, attended the meeting. 

Zhang Jianquan introduced the basic information of the Surveying Institute from the angles of the development process, organizational structure and future development. Dr. Li Ke, deputy director of the Geo-information Center, introduced the relevant projects of geo-information industry. 

After hearing the introduction, Zhou Chenghu affirmed the achievements that the Surveying Institute has made in the subway surveying field, and offered valuable opinions and suggestions on the history, current situation and future development of the institute. He affirmed the practice of the institute on intensively tapping and applying the massive historical data accumulated in the subway engineering construction and surveying, and hoped the institute to make further analysis and research intensively to the ground and underground geo-information in the subway maintenance, and make in-depth development for the employment of geo-information tools in the operation and maintenance of the super-large non-standard projects so as to offer better services.
