Beijing Rail Structure Engineering Technology Research Center unveiled

On July 10, Beijing Rail Structure Engineering Technology Research Center (BRSETRC), recognized by Beijing Municipal Science & Technology Commission, held the unveiling ceremony at Beijing Xindadu Hotel. The research center is Beijing’s first enterprise-led engineering technology research center specializing in the rail structure research and test and technological promotion and one of the three platforms that UCD has designed for the rail transit technology innovation. UCD serves as the supporter of the research center while Beijing Jiaotong University and Anhui Chaohu Casting Factory Co. Ltd. are cooperators. 

More than 50 leaders, including Shi Zhongheng, academician of the Chinese Academy of Engineering, Xing Yongjie, director of the Social Development Department of Beijing Municipal Science & Technology Commission, Zhou Nansen, deputy director of Beijing Municipal Commission of Urban Planning, Zou Ying, deputy director of Beijing Municipal Commission of Transport, Wan Chun, deputy director of the Technology and Rural Construction Division of Beijing Municipal Commission of Housing and Urban-Rural Development, Han Zhiewi, deputy general manager of Beijing MTR Construction Administration Corporation, Zhou Jibo, chief engineer of Beijing Mass Transit Railway Operation Corporation Limited and Zhang Jinxun, chief engineer of Beijing Urban Construction Group, attended the ceremony. 

Wang Hanjun, general manager of UCD, congratulated the center on its establishment and made a speech. He points out that the highly opening attitude of the rail transit construction sector implies both opportunities and challenges for developers. In this context, UCD has pooled the elite resources of various parties to jointly undertake this important mission. He expects valuable opinions and suggestions and continuous support and assistance from all leaders and experts for the construction of the center. Meanwhile the center will become a new platform for technological innovation of the rail structure industry and the scientific and technological achievement transfer and a base for cultivation of high-end talents so as to contribute to the prosperity of the rail transit sector of Beijing. He also awarded the letters of appointment to 21 experts of rail structure of the technical committee of the center. 

Beijing Rail Structure Engineering Technology Research Center will center on research and development of the rail structure safety, environmental protection, comfort evaluation technology, new rail equipment under different systems and seriation technology, comprehensive damping technology on the basis of the environmental protection, rail structure diseases mechanism and solutions, rail equipment inspection, test and appraisal technology to improve the technology development and inspection and test of rail structure, product manufacturing and industrialization of China and contribute to the safe operation and environmental protection of the rail transit.
