Expert Review for the 2nd Phase Project of Kunming Rail Transit Line 2 successfully completed

Between June 9 and 12, the Expert Review for the 2nd Phase Project of Kunming Rail Transit Line 2, hosted by UCD with the entrustment of Yunnan Provincial Development and Reform Commission, was successfully completed in Kunming. 

The review, headed by Chief Engineer Yang Xiuren, with Lu Weidong, deputy chief engineer as the project manager, has a 25-people expert group with Shen Jingyan as the group leader, and members including Dong Lixin, Huang Meiqun, Yang Xingshan, Song Yi, Yu Zhihong, Cao Zonghao, Yan Xueyan, Li Xin, Yang Huilin, Fu Yilong, Chen Peng, Wang Feng, Gao Liping, Yang Huiju and other renowned members from Guangzhou, Zhengzhou and Kunming. The expert group had completed the Expert Review, the key part of the work. 

Leaders of Yunnan Province and Kunming Municipality attended the meeting and made speeches. The meeting received great support and assistance from provincial and municipal governmental authorities, Kunming Rail Transit Group Co.,Ltd., and the general designer China Railway Siyuan Survey & Design Group Co., Ltd.

Project profile:

The 2nd phase of Line 2, measuring 12.75km in length, has 10 stations. In the starting, middle and long terms, the Type B six-car marshalling (4 locomotives, 2 cars) will be applied. With a maximum design speed of 80km/h, Line 2 will start construction in early July 2015 and have a trial operation at the end of 2018. Thus, the total construction period will be 3.5 years.
