Labor is lofty, so are model workers

--Wu Jianzhong won the honor of Beijing Municipal Model Worker

On April 29, Beijing International Workers’ Day Celebration cum Model Workers and Pacemakers Commendation Conference was held in Beijing Conference Center. A total of 1,153 excellent workers from all walks of life gathered to receive the grand commendation of the CPC Beijing Committee and Beijing Municipal Government. Wu Jianzhong, vice chief engineer of UCD and general manager of Southwest Institute, won the honor of Beijing Municipal Model Worker. 

Wu has been engaged in rail traffic sci-tech R&D for a long time. Boasting great capabilities in organizing and coordinating rail traffic projects, he has led and attended dozens of rail traffic R&D projects, formulated rail technical standards for national railways and urban rail traffic products, produced many general drawings and standard drawings for rail products, and developed new rail technologies and products conformable to subway operation. He is the main compiler for the national Subway Design Criteria and the subway design specifications for Beijing and Chongqing. As an expert and scholar, he often attends the evaluation meeting for rail sci-tech research, product development and project design. He has published over 20 academic papers and won 6 invention patents. As a leader in railway and rail product design field, he has won the honor of “standardization worker with outstanding contribution” granted by the former Ministry of Railways, and has received provincial and ministerial sci-tech achievement awards.

Let’s publicize the good deeds of model workers and learn from them. Let’s establish the concept of hard work, honest work and creative work. Create greatness with honorable labor will be the powerful sound of era.
