Leaders of Beijing Municipal CPPCC Visit Members and Do Research in UCD

On the morning of Feb. 27, Lu Yan, member of the leading Party members group and vice chairman of Beijing Municipal Committee of the Chinese People’s Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC), led a team to UCD to pay a visit to Qian Jiahong and Ma Yunfei, members of the said Municipal CPPCC, and conducted a seminar on such topics as members’ performance of functions, rail transit construction and urban renewal. Chen Daihua, deputy director of the Municipal CPPCC Human Resources and Environmental Construction Subcommittee, presided over the seminar. Hao Liuliang, full-time deputy director of the Municipal CPPCC Human Resources and Environmental Construction Subcommittee, Chang Yongchun, Party secretary and chairman of BUCG, and Wang Hanjun, general manager of UCD, participated in the seminar.

Leaders of the Municipal CPPCC visited the national itinerant exhibition of excellent works from the “Good House” Design Competition, listened to Qian Jiahong’s introduction of the award criteria, innovation philosophy and supportive policy encouraging the implementation of achievements from the competition, and made in-depth discussions on how to design good houses, build good houses, good residential quarters and communities and construct demonstration urban areas for the rank and file.
UCD’s general manager Wang Hanjun reported the company’s urban construction design and rail transit work and the related services to the urban construction and development of Beijing, and made suggestions on renewal and transformation of the existing rail transit lines in Beijing. Qian Jiahong and Ma Yunfei, members of the Municipal CPPCC, took the floor with regard to such important work as urban renewal, energy conservation and carbon reduction and transformation of old residential quarters in Beijing as well as how to do a better job of the CPPCC members’ performance of functions.
BUCG’s Party secretary and chairman Chang Yongchun extended a warm welcome to the visiting Municipal CPPCC leaders. He said that under the correct leadership of Beijing Municipal Party Committee and the Municipal Government and with the care and guidance from the Municipal CPPCC, BUCG has formed the pattern of nine major business sectors advancing side by side and developing coordinately, with its sectors of engineering, real estate, design and landscape architecture all taking the lead in the industry. He said that BUCG will give play to its industry-chain advantages and its advantages in application scenarios in particular to provide support with all its strength for CPPCC members’ performance of functions and to make contribution to the development of Beijing in the new era.
Lu Yan, member of the leading Party members group and vice chairman of the Municipal CPPCC fully praised the active performance of functions of Qian Jiahong and Ma Yunfei and the achievements scored by them in their work. In line with UCD’s development, Lu Yan pointed out that the units where CPPCC members work should integrate their own development with the development of Beijing. He said that as a design enterprise UCD should attach importance to design products and services, pay attention to the needs of the masses, serve the lives of the rank and file; that UCD should give play to Beijing’s advantages in resources, join hands with related enterprises to seek common development and that UCD should pay attention to markets relating to urban renewal, property management and transformation of existing rail transit lines and expand space for enterprise development.
Lu Yan stressed that as a state-owned enterprise in Beijing, BUCG should actively carry out with actual deeds the spirit of General Secretary Xi Jinping’s important remarks made during his inspection tour of Beijing and endeavor to facilitate the Xi Jinping Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for a New Era to take root, blossom and bring forth fruitful results in Beijing. Mr Lu added that BUCG should care about and show solicitude for CPPCC members’ performance of functions and actively set up platforms and offer help for their development in enterprises to contribute wisdom and strength for bringing about the Beijing chapter on the Chinese path to modernization.
