UCD’s Innovative Fruits Unveiled at the Metro Transit Exhibition

From Apr. 27 through 29, International Metro Transit Exhibition & Forum (Beijing-Qingdao) was held in Qingdao, with the 1st China Metro Transit Hi-Tech Fair kicked off at the same time. With“Smart Metro and Green Development”as the theme, the exhibition saw its unprecedented scale and received extensive attention from within the industry and beyond. China Association of Metros (CAM)’s Design and Consulting Committee (DCC) undertaken by UCD held a sub-forum featuring the guideline of“Innovating in Urban Rail Design to Boost Green Development”. In the meantime, UCD’s innovative fruits made a stage pose at the exhibition, injecting a new driving force for the development of the industry.

The sub-forum of “Innovating in Urban Rail Design to Boost Green Development” focuses on trends of the industry and pools wisdoms from the industry to explore a road for high-quality development with concerted effort. Li Guoyong, Vice President of China Association of Metros, and Yu Songwei, Deputy Director of the Design and Consulting Committee and UCD’s Deputy General Manager, addressed the sub-forum. The sub-forum was presided over by Wang Chen, Deputy Secretary-General of the Design and Consulting Committee and President of UCD’s Design Institute. Hundreds of people of the rail transit industry from across the country participated in the sub-forum.

At the sub-forum, renowned domestic experts and honored guests made excellent speeches on green urban rail system solutions, green and low-carbon rail transit planning design and practice, and provided face-to-face chances of communication for proprietors, design and consulting units, engineering construction units and manufacturers, being of great significance to the innovation on urban rail transit design under new circumstances, the accurate grasp of needs for green development, the acceleration of new concept popularization, the development of cutting-edge technologies and the promotion of green and low-carbon development of the rail transit industry. The sub-forum also gave an introduction to the industry efficiency evaluation and analyzing platform of China Association of Metros and released the 2022 Report on Analysis of the Efficiency Evaluation Indicators of China Association of Metros to guide all cities to improve their operation levels to facilitate the high-quality and sustainable development of the industry.

During the forum, UCD’s Deputy General Manager Yu Songwei and Chief Planner Xu Chengyong as well as Yang Xiuren, Director of National Engineering Research Center, Feng Aijun, a well-known expert of the Experts Workshop, Gong Ping, Technical Director of the Fifth Design Institute, Wang Guojian, Director of Scientific Research Center of Beijing Institute of Residential Building Design & Research Co. Ltd., and Gao Tao, Deputy Chief Engineer of Beijing Urban Construction Exploration & Surveying Design Institute Co., Ltd., made reports to demonstrate research results of their respective research fields.

The metro transit exhibition demonstrates the foundation of a strong equipment country in a panoramic way. GART, a rubber-tired rapid transit train of a new generation to which UCD has complete independent intellectual property rights, made a stunning debut appearance and attracted the gaze of a good many participators. As an urban rail transit impeller in China, UCD applies itself to tackling the worst weaknesses impeding urban development, such as long period and high investment for building traditional subways and light rails, singularity in right of way of low-volume rail transit, and low efficiency of operation. By joining hands with Beijing Urban Construction Intelligent Control Co. Ltd. and GART, a mid- and low-volume rail transit product developed by famous domestic vehicle enterprises, UCD offers new solutions for energizing intelligent transportation and for forging a flexibly operated, safe and convenient, light and environmentally-friendly brand-new transportation system with lower cost.

On the design and consulting theme screen, UCD showcased such scientific research innovative products as the underground space IOT comprehensive solution, 3D collaborative design platform, deeply integrated BIM/GIS design and construction integration management platform, smart operation platform, noncontact intelligent millimeter wave security detector, wisdom fire, “Urban Simulation”database platform and the comprehensive media platform of the urban rail transit industry. Meanwhile, UCD-affiliated exploration and surveying design institute, Xinjie company, Anjie company and Hong Kong company took part in the exhibition and showcased their development results scored in the segmentation field.

At the metro transit hi-tech fair held in the same period, UCD-affiliated transportation institute and China International Engineering Consulting Corporation jointly released the“National Urban Rail Transit Quantitative Evaluation Big Data System”. The system has been divided into three versions featuring the country, the provinces and the cities and can provide policy-making support for the whole life cycle of urban rail transit planning, construction and operation, becoming the third-party big data system of China International Engineering Consulting Corporation to conduct nationwide urban rail transit construction planning evaluations. The synchronically released Report on Trend of Development Along Urban Rail Transit Lines in China 2021 chooses 40 cities, 219 rail transit lines and more than 4000 stations across the country to analyze over ten key indicators, providing important references for the scientific planning and high-quality development of the urban rail transit industry in China.

UCD also took part in Chongqing rail transit interconnection exhibition, National Engineering Research Center participated in the innovation network exhibition, www.chinametro.net took part in the media exhibition and released the Cloud Platform Technology White Paper of Chongqing Railway Group Co., Ltd. jointly with Chongqing Railway Group Co., Ltd.
