UCD earns two prizes of China Award for Science and Technology in Construction

Recently, the 2022 China Award for Science and Technology in Construction has been made known to the public, with UCD winning prizes for its two scientific research projects. Of the two projects, UCD-led “Research and Application of Key Technologies for Optimizing and Upgrading the Operation of Existing Rail Transit Line Networks” won second prize, and UCD-participated “Research of Key Technologies for Underground Excavation and Construction of Urban Large-scale Underground Space and for Seepage Control of Underground Water” won first prize.

The UCD-led project of “Research and Application of Key Technologies for Optimizing and Upgrading the Operation of Existing Rail Transit Line Networks” sets forth a number of innovation technologies for the rail transit industry: cross-stage integration of renovation and planning of existing lines for the first time, innovation on the comprehensive technology system for optimizing and upgrading existing line networks based on operation organizing and planning; key technologies put forward for the first time for optimizing and upgrading existing lines to facilitate urban renewal and development; comprehensive reconstruction technologies put forward for the first time for “capacity and efficiency expansion, hidden peril elimination and renewal, quality improvement and transformation, and intelligent service” for existing urban transit lines. The project has acquired eight state-authorized patents, with a number of technologies being popularized and applied in Beijing, Nanjing, Dalian, etc., scoring remarkable economic and social benefit.
